New Year’s Resolutions! | A Photostory

It’s January 6th, meaning most of you guys have set your New Year’s Resolutions! In this post, the AGW crew will tell you about theirs in this photostory! I can’t wait for you guys to read this and I had so much fun making it!

1

Lea: “My new year’s resolution is to get more rest and relax more. I’m always busy and out-and-about, so I want to do some self-care once in a while. I’ll probably be reading my Bible during that relaxation time. The only thing – it’ll be hard to relax with Maryellen around…”

3

Maryellen: “HEYYYYYY!!!! That is SO NOT TRUE!!!!!!! Check your facts, missy! I am a VERY RELAXED PERSON!!”

Lea: *muttering* “Are you though?”

4

Maryellen: “Anyways, my resolution: I want to try gymnastics. It seems really fun and I enjoy being upside down and doing a bunch of energetic things in a row. I think I have some more -”

9

Jade: *interrupts* “My resolution is to get into the American Girl Academy ballet company, and I also want to learn how to do flexibility tricks.”

14

Tenney: “I want the Shooting Star’s tour to be spectacular when we set off this May and for it to sell out! I also want to learn to play another instrument – maybe the violin.”

11

Isabel: “Uhh, Tenney, the first one isn’t really a resolution, more of a wish…Anyways, my resolution is to make the AGA junior dance competition team and junior ballet company. I also want to start reading my Bible every day like Jade does.”

5

Maryellen: “What I was SAYING before I was so RUDELY INTERRUPTED, my other resolution is to outdo myself and everyone else this April fools and pull some awesome pranks. Also, this is random but I want a skateboard, and if I get a skateboard then my other other resolution is to be able to ride it to the donut place and back by the end of summer.”

13

Logan: “My resolution is, as captain of the AGA basketball team, I will lead them to the championships again this year. Also, like Tenney, I am going to try my best to help make the tour as awesome as possible.”

2

Maryellen: “Charlie, that’s a weird resolution. I thought of one more: be even MORE awesome this year, if that’s even possible! My awesomeness is so insanely awesome that I will make an awesome resolution to be even more awesome!”

12

Alexandra: “Maryellen, that was the most confusing resolution ever. This year, I want to write a book. I’ve written various short stories and poems, but in 2019 I want to attempt a full-length novel! Also, I’m going to audition for Tenney and Logan’s band this year, and I really want to succeed! I plan to practice guitar, piano, and singing everyday in preparation for my audition.”

Untitled design.png

Charlie: “Every year I have some sort of complicated resolution that I forget about a week into the new year. So this year, I’ve decided to do something very simple that I know I can achieve and I will not forget. This year my resolution is to get out of bed each and every morning.”

16

Felicity: “I don’t make resolutions. Instead, I make a word for the year. This year, my word of the year is release. Release the old, welcome the new, and don’t hold on to bitter or bad feelings.”

15

Felicity: “Thank you all so much for reading this post! Emmie is praying that ya’ll have an awesome year. Happy 2019, everyone!”

Hi everyone, and welcome back to ZCN! AGW hopes to make this a monthly series, and word on the street is, Paris will be joining ZCN soon! In the meantime, I’m your host, Ziana Yang, here with the fan-favorite segment Around the Blogosphere!

4

We all hope you had an awesome Thanksgiving! Life got in the way, and unfortunately, we weren’t able to get a Thanksgiving post up during our first non-hiatus November. However, the reader is still filled with orange, gold, and brown from when bloggers celebrated the thankful holiday!

Carlye from Silver Fox Studios is hosting a photo contest! This contest will work like AGNDM: Each week, there will be a new theme and an elimination until a lucky doll-photographer is declared the winner! The deadline to sign up was November 10, but you can still read and enjoy the series. Thanks for the tip, Natalie!

Maya from Life Behind a Camera recently finished her novel, titled Hide and Seek, and had an awesome blog tour launching it! As her book’s synopsis reads, Hide and Seek is about: “Amara Clark is haunted. When her childhood friend, Asher, vanished during a seemingly ordinary game of hide-and-seek, she was left bewildered and alone.
Now, eight years later, memories of Asher are coming back to haunt her and she struggles to decipher the meaning of his disappearance…Before they know it, Amara and her best friend, Rowan, are whisked away on a journey to find Asher and take down the sinister group that is holding him captive. But time is running out, and saving one friend could mean losing another.”* This fantastic read is available at Amazon for just $10.12 paperback and $5.99 Kindle! ** Thanks for the tip, Natalie!

Speaking of self-published authors, Allison from A Farm Girl’s Life has written and illustrated her very own book of poems! As the author’s note in Unfurling: A Little Book of Poems says, “A poem is a flower bud – such a small package, yet it holds so much in every petal, every word. When the outer layer unfurls, the old, familiar scales fall from your eyes, and everything is transformed. Perhaps that is what beauty is: a transformation.” The book is available at Lulu for $7.99 in paperback.***

Rose from The Bright Bookcase recently wrote a thought-provoking post about the struggles of blogging and blogger jealousy! You can check out her post here! She also is starting a competition called 25 Days of Blogmas. You can sign up for the posting challenge/competion here!

Madison from Madi Grace, Delightful World of Dolls, and Madison Grace Author is still on hiatus, and we hope to see her back soon! Be praying for her health, you guys!

AGs In Alaska is cutting down on her post frequency to prepare for what she calls ‘the best Christmas post ever’! Everyone is waiting in anticipation for the awesome post, and here at ZCN, we can’t wait to find out what it is. “Hmm, I’m not exactly sure [how long I will be gone]! I will try to post a few times during December but most of my work will be spent on the Big Surprise,” she says of how long the break will be, dubbing her Christmas post the same name as FPC before it was revealed.****

And of course, our Big Surprise has been revealed: it’s a photostory competition (FPC, or Fall Photostory Competition)! You can check out parts 1 and 2 of the intro photostory by clicking on the numbers, and you can sign up and check out the rules and how it works here. Stay tuned for an interview with the creators of the series, coming at the end of this post!

Now that we’ve caught up with the latest blogosphere happenings, it’s time to check out our next segment: What’s Up, AGW?

“I’ve been sick for the last week or so,” Emmie says. “With Thanksgiving break and not going out too much, I have a lot of free time! I’ve been working on a video, did a super fun photoshoot, and obviously have been making this post! My mom and I just got back from my grandparents’ house, where my sister and dad are staying until Saturday. We’ll drive back up there, watch the football game, and then bring them home!” She told ZCN on Friday, November 23.

“I’ve also completed 114 pages of my NaNo novel’s structure! I decided to skip the scene outline. I’m usually a panster/minimal plotter, so I really just want those key moments mapped out and the rest I get to creatively make up as I go. Today is the LAST DAY of NaNo (!!!!), and I really need to catch up on the actual writing part – I’ve completed page 1, which is only 876 words of my 6000 wordcount goal.”

She’s using today’s home day to furiously type a novel into existence in hopes of conquering NaNoWriMo once again. “I really don’t want this to be the first year I lose, even though I wasn’t as serious about it this year!” Emmie says.

2

Emmie’s also planning another surprise, coming this Christmas alongside the 2018 Emmie Awards.”All I can say is that it’s a mega-AGSM! It’s been scripted, and some of the characters have been cast. I plan to get some filming done when school gets out for winter break in two weeks.”

Thanks for reading What’s Up, AGW? And now it’s time for some breaking news!

Emmie recently received a mysterious letter from American Girl, announcing that American Girl Magazine’s (and I quote the letter’s heading) “FINAL ISSUE” will be in January/February! Here’s a photo of the letter:

8

“We’re proud of our amazing 25-year run of American Girl magazine, which has given voice to millions of girls since its debut in 1992.  However, just as the broader print magazine industry continues to face serious declines, American Girl magazine is equally challenged with decreasing subscriber numbers as more girls turn to alternative forms of entertainment,” says American Girl Magazine Customer Service in a recent interview with the ZCN team.

“Although we’re sad to say goodbye to the magazine, we look forward to finding new ways to deliver the same type of fun and inspiring content for girls in new and relevant formats.  We’ll have more to share about this in the months ahead.”

American Girl magazine is offering three options for customers to get their annual subscription money back: A magazine subscription to National Geographic Magazine, a refund, or American Girl books valued at $40.

The only problem with the last option is that AG selects the books for you, which means you could get $40 worth of books you already have.

When ZCN asked American Girl magazine’s customer service about this, AG responded, “Sorry, but no returns/exchanges/substitutions can be made to the books included in the bundle. They are free to choose another replacement option, or you may consider donating the books to their local library or give them as gifts for other girls to enjoy.”

Emmie and her mom have decided to go with the refund option and spend the money on books they can pick out themselves. “Just like the AG magazine Customer Service, I’m sad to see American Girl magazine go. I’m going to miss waiting for the next issue, starting contest entries that never get sent in, and reading the latest issue for hours on end. My favorite part was the Help! advice column and According to Aggie comics, and I loved the spotlights on real girls from across the country.”

Are you sad to see American Girl magazine go? Leave a comment at the end of this post! But first, we have our Spotlight segment, featuring no other than Natalie from The AG Spot and our very own Emmie from American Girl World!

Z: Hi, guys, and welcome to the show!

E: Um, was already here in the first place to help you with the episode, but…hi again!

N: Hey, Z! It’s great to be on the show!

Z: What sparked the idea of Fall Photostory Competition?

E: When Natalie had to leave Standing Firm in my Faith for personal reasons, we missed each other and I emailed her about doing an AG collab. When we were discussing how writing/photo contests like HARPS and CPC were so popular at the time, I had an idea: what if we did something similar, but a photostory competition? In the end, it turned out to be almost nothing like those competitions, but that’s how it began!

N: We were also trying to spark some more interest and add a little more excitement in the doll blogiverse, in addition to having internet friend fun together!

Z: That’s really cool – the blogosphere has been sort of quiet. How long do you think it took to create this competition?

N: A looooooong time. I believe we came up with the idea in February or March, and then decided to work on it in May to make it a summer contest. Unfortunately, we didn’t realize just how long it actually took to plan these things, and there were lots of things to tweak and agree on. Then, when one of my dolls suffered an unfortunate accident, we weren’t able to photograph the beginning photostory…

E: …So then I had an idea to turn it into fall photostory competition! We changed the name, images, and gave the audition round a fall-y theme, did a ton more, and then we were all set! It was a long and complicated process, so it finally being ready is super rewarding.

Z: Wow, that sounds crazy! Besides what you mentioned above, what kinds of things did you have to do to get the competition ready?

E: Making graphics, coming up with scoring and prizes, figuring out rules, creating photo stories, fixing issues, getting a top-secret surprise that we’ll reveal at the end of the competition ready, taking pictures, and more!
N: There were a lot of little things we had to do that we hadn’t even thought of – like figuring out how to cc/bcc in emails and finding a fake text message generator (the weirdest thing I’ve googled yet).

Z: Why did you decide to create the competition?

N: The doll blogiverse has been at a bit of a low ebb lately, with many bloggers leaving or posting infrequently. We wanted to jazz up and add some excitement to the AG community, and this was the perfect way to do it!

E: Yup! I also hope it inspires lots of great ideas, stories, pictures, and friendships through all the readers and participants!

Copy of Copy of Untitled Design

Z: How does the competition work?

N: You can sign up on our blogs, and create a photostory using our prompts. During this first round, which is the ‘audition’ round, we’ll score the photo stories and pick six (or more!) stories for people to vote on. The top three receive awesome prizes!
E: You can check out the prizes at this post!
Z: That’s awesome! When will the competition end? Can you still sign up?
N: The deadline for photostories to be submitted is December 1st, which was recently extended so that more people can enter.
E: And that’s just for the audition round! The finals will overlap into December, (Fall doesn’t technically end until December 21, right? :P) where everyone will get to vote on the photostories (even the participants, but they can’t vote for themselves!)
Z: Where can you sign up? Where can you find the rules?
E: You can sign up right here or here! The rules can be found in those same posts!
N: After you sign up, you’ll receive a confirmation email from either me or Emmie. When your photostory is finished, you’ll submit it to us, and we’ll email you the results!

Z: Thanks for the interview!

E: No problem!
N: My pleasure! It’s been super fun!

And that’s it, folks! Thanks for reading ZCN, and remember to send your tips through the contact form and sign up for Fall Photostory Competition! See you in two weeks!

Z Crew News: Episode 2 | Coverage You Can Count On (Featuring Clara from Clara and Co!)

Welcome back to ZCN! I’m Ziana Yang, the star reporter and anchorwoman for the series. In today’s episode, we’ve got some news, interviews, sneak peeks, and more for you to enjoy!

ZCN Episode 2 (3)This fan-favorite segment, Around the Blogosphere, highlights what’s been going on in the past few months around the blogosphere. Let’s take a look!

Tess from the awesome blog Steeplechase has achieved an amazing feat! For the entire month of October, she posted every single day with a fun and exciting topic. Some of my personal favorites include: Taking a Casual Stroll on a Wednesday {APADO 17}Everyday Miracles {APADO #12}, and Conversations With 13-Year-Old Me {APADO #4}. Congratulations, Tess! Don’t forget to check out her APADO recap and take her survey here. Thanks for the tip, Madi!

Madison from Delightful World of Dolls has been blogging for 6 years! The blog has become a blogosphere icon, filled with spectacular writing and gorgeous photos. As Madi states in her 6-year blogaversiary post, “Believe me, the moment I am sustainably healthy and have my skyrocketing energy back…*in Terminator voice* I’ll be back.”** Be praying for her!

With many bloggers banging out the next bestselling novel during NaNoWriMo, several bloggers are going on hiatus. However, we’re glad to see Bekah from Questionable Tourtise Couture back from her ‘Unexpected Hiatus‘! Don’t forget to enter her Q&A, too.

Eleanor from Pointe to Christ got hearing aids! “Due to repetitive ear infections, vertigo, and other damage to my ears, I lost a lot of my hearing,” she writes in a recent post. “I lost 80% in my right ear, and 50% in my left ear. I need hearing aids, and I got them about 2 1/2 weeks ago. It has been so, so, so, so, soooooooo amazing! I have heard so many beautiful things that I’ve never ever heard before (take flip-flops, WHO KNEW THEY MADE NOISE???) There are still some things I cannot even believe make noise.”*

ZCN Episode 2 (2)

She’s also working on a world-changing project that shares God’s Word and spreads light into the universe, one letter at a time. Eleanor is inspiring you and people everywhere to write letters every day this month encouraging a random person and leave them in a place where someone could find it! Here at AGW, we’ve been trying our best to write one letter every day this November. Learn more and join in at the website, letterswithapurpose.wordpress.com!

Clara from Clara and Co. is hosting a giveaway and blog tour! You can check out her post here. Stay tuned for a special spotlight on her brand new business and AGW’s spot on the Blogger Box blog tour at the end of this post! Her little sister, Laura, is also hosting a giveaway of her own! Enter to win some awesome washi tape here.

Do you have news to share? Don’t hesitate to send your tips through the Contact Form for a chance to be featured in the next episode!

Now that you’re caught up on what’s going on in the blogosphere, let’s take a look at our other segment: What’s Up, AGW?

ZCN Episode 2 (5).png

This NaNoWriMo, Emmie’s doing something totally different than usual! “I recently got K.M. Weiland’s Structuring Your Novel and its accompanying workbook, and for the first few days of NaNo, I’ve been structuring!” Emmie states. “I have a separate goal of 139 words – each word represents a workbook page. When I finish a workbook page, I update my “word count” and watch as my completion percentage goes up a little. According to the NaNoWriMo YWP website’s progress tracker, I should be done on November 9!”

After completing the structure, she plans to skip the outlining part of her novel and dive straight into writing. “I’ve never really liked a super-long outlining process, but I hope to try it for the rewrite of my Huntress novel. For now, my structure is serving as an outline, so that way I know where I’m going and hopefully will get the timing right, while also having more creative freedom during the actual process of writing the novel itself.”

ZCN Episode 2 (4).png

The currently untitled novel is going to be a book about AGW’s newest doll, Paris. “It’s formatted like an AG Meet Book and follows the story of how she came to AG Academy,” Emmie says. I’m even one of the main characters!

Emmie plans to self-publish the book for her 3-year blogaversiary! “I wouldn’t be able to finish it in time for the upcoming 2-year blogaversiary,” she explains. “But, I do have some other exciting things planned.”

One of those exciting things is The Emmie Awards! Last year’s Emmie Awards celebrated all kinds of bloggers and their achievements, and this year, we plan to take it up a notch. There’s going to be red-carpet photos, a blog party, and possibly even a real-life prize for the Blog of the Year award! Of course, this year Z Crew News will be covering the whole event.

Emmie’s also been working on a top-secret Christmas AGSM, too. More information and a trailer are coming your way this December!

Isabel got her wig replaced! A post and AGSM are coming up about the (super long) process and results.

Speaking of surprises, the Big Surprise is almost ready to go! Expect to see it this weekend.

ZCN Episode 2 (1)

Let’s turn our attention towards an awesome blogger for our stop on an awesome blog tour. Today, I’m going to be spotlighting Clara from Clara and Co. with a special article!

“What first inspired me to create The Blogger Box was the lack of [subscription] boxes designed specifically for bloggers. After spending a while trying to find a blogger-specific box with no results, I decided to make one myself!” Clara says in a recent interview with me.

The young entrepreneur says that “The first people to know [about my idea for the Blogger Box] were my parents! When I came up with the idea, I quickly typed it up in a Google Doc and shared it with them. They both seemed excited about the idea, and it just grew from there.”

From start to finish, it’s taken Clara six months to make this a reality. “The hardest part for me was finding the best prices on everything I wanted to include in the boxes. My favorite part has been promoting and marketing the box by designing logos, a website, etc.”

“My hope for the future of the Blogger Box is that I will inspire as many bloggers as I can!” Clara says. “The Blogger Box will be launched on November 12th and can be purchased through the website, which will also be revealed on the 12th!”

You can follow the rest of the tour through these blogs:

my new favorite gif ^ (thanks, natalie!)

Eleven.

Wow. That seems…crazy, I guess. It’s hard to believe. You know what’s also hard to believe? How amazing Wednesday was!

And no, I’m NOT bragging, I’m sharing my adventures, so please no hate in the comments! (everyone knows virtual marshmallows are so much better)

Wait, that’s not right. I’m not sharing my adventures…Paris is!

*crickets*

Oh yeah, did I forget to introduce the new doll, Truly Me #53 doll, Paris? *squeals with excitement* She’s so cute! I love her! *brushes her awesome hairstyle* I even made a little unboxing video to kick off the post – and here it is!

NOTE: Most of the time, the video doesn’t show up in the WordPress Reader. Please CLICK HERE to go to the website.

Can I take it over from here? Sure, Paris! OK!

IMG_0705

Hi, I’m Paris! Right now, I’m at the AG Place for Emmie’s birthday.

IMG_2480

“This morning, Emmie woke up to the birthday song – a family tradition! Then, she opened the wrapping paper and quickly made an unboxing video for her YouTube Channel.”

IMG_2492

After that, we ate breakfast and then headed over to the mall.

IMG_0706

This nice girl at the Grand Hotel let me take a selfie with her! However, when it was time to take the picture, she got distracted by this:

IMG_0710

Apparently, Z is leaving by the end of this year! Emmie’s really sad about that – she thought that Z was one of AG’s best dolls.

IMG_0713

Emmie thinks this picture is artistic…I mean, if you squint your eyes and tilt your head it looks a bit artistic – Hey!

IMG_0720

“Whoooooooo is that girl IIIIIIII see, staaaaaaaaring straight baaaaack at meeeeeee?”

IMG_0722

Strike a pose!

IMG_0725

No offense to this CYO model, but she’s kind of creepy.

IMG_0726

You can get your ears pierced at the AGP now!

IMG_0730

After we looked around the store for a bit, we headed over to The Children’s Place for some shopping!

IMG_0731

Everything seemed to be 40% off for some reason.

IMG_0735

After stopping at Crazy 8, we headed over to California Pizza Kitchen for lunch. I had a ton of fun with the kids menu!

IMG_0736

More selfies!

IMG_0744

The pineapple pizza I ate was super good! Tenney photobombed, LOL! She came along with me to the store, and we’ve become pretty good friends.

Before…and after. Cheesecake successfully annihilated.

Then, Emmie went ice skating! I couldn’t go, sadly, because I don’t have any skates. Emmie and her sister were the only people on the whole rink! It was super cool!

Thanks for the post, Paris! I filmed a little outro for you guys while I was on the ice:

//Pen Pals// {Collab with Forever American Girl} (Spring Break Post-a-Thon #3)

Hi there, people of the Earth!

So, Mary E. and I are doing a collab! Here’s Felcity’s reply to Saige’s letter!

Dear Saige,

Thank you so much for your letter! It was so cool to hear about your family. I absolutely love horses and painting too! Here’s a picture of all of my siblings and cousins:

IMG_1619
Top: (Left to right) Me (12), Alexandra (14), Jade (15)                                                                                                 Middle: (Left to right) Isabel (12), Ziana (13), Lea (12), Logan (11), Maryellen (9)                                                             Bottom: (Left to right) Honey (4), Bonbon (5), Popcorn (2), Speedy (3), Maria (6), Coco (1), Maple (1), Tutu (1), Tucker (2)                                                                                                                                      Not pictured: Ashton (13), Tenney (12), and Galaxy (A horse who is 6  years old)

I share a room with Maryellen and Lea! We have a bunk bed that has a trundle. Lea sleeps on the top, I sleep on the bottom, and Maryellen sleeps in the trundle. I probably hang out with Alexandra the most. My favorite food is…hmm…I like all of them! My favorite color is light purple. What is your favorite color? Do you have any pets? I have a horse names Galaxy. She didn’t exactly fit in the family picture! The photo was from Christmas by the way. When is your birthday? My birthday is April 7, 2006. Emmie got me on April 7, 2017!

I’m quite shy around new people, but when I’m with my sisters and good friends I can be pretty outgoing. I guess you could say I’m ambiverted! I’m neither popular nor bullied at school. I really just hang out with my close group of friends – and my horse, of course!

I had so much fun writing to you! Also, tell your mom/owner thank you for making me a signoff!

Love from your pen pal, Felicity-sign-off

{Double Character Interview // Julia Rose & Tunes of my Heart Blog Tour}

I had the awesome privilege of being able to participate in not one, but two blog tours! Be sure to check out Rebekah’s new blog, Tunes of My Heart, and Light4theLord’s new blog, Julia Rose!

So, to promote both blogs, I’m doing a double character interveiw with characters from Light4theLord and Rebekah’s book! So, here it is!

(I will be in italics)

iu.png

1. What are three words to describe you?
KARAH: Three words? Well.. people say I’m quiet and responsible, so I suppose those count… and my sisters say I’m a storyteller… I would say quiet, storyteller, and responsible.
DAISY: Adventurous, tomboyish, saucy. *flips hair*
“Saucy. *flips hair*” Best. Description. Ever. XDiu.png
2. What is your dream job?
KARAH:  *laughs quietly* Anything that supplies enough to feed my family. I don’t have very big dreams. I’ve been disappointed too many times to try anymore.
DAISY: Hmm, I’m not sure; ambitious is not a word to describe me, and I hardly ever think about my future (I’m too preoccupied with daydreams and fancies). But really, I would love any job that involved variety, versatility, unpredictability, and adventure! Anything that’s exciting (I can’t stand boredom) and where my daring spirit would be a good fit.
KARAH STOP MAKING ME WANT TO CRY THAT’S JUST SO SAD *sobs heart out*iu.png
3. If you could go anywhere in the/your world, where would you go?
KARAH: Home. I don’t really like traveling, and I love my home – even if it’s small, and not very fancy, it’s where I can be me.
DAISY: Lemme think for a second. This is in the book – my best friend Karah Vedier’s house. You would think I’m kidding. I’m the daughter of one of the most powerful dukes in Ireland; I live in a manor sprawling acres and acres with several rooms all to myself and all the luxurious extravagance any twelve-year-old girl could wish for, and yet…honestly, I would rather be in Karah’s home. It’s a wee little cottage half the size of my bedroom, and truly it’s the most rundown and dilapidated place I’ve ever seen, but there’s something there that can’t be felt when I’m back at the manor. Maybe the manor is just too big and fancy for me, I guess. But Karah and her father and mother and her four little siblings just seem to be so happy. Despite how poor they are and how they don’t even know where their next meal is coming from. And for whatever reason, every time I get to go there (I got to go to her little sister Rebekah’s birthday party, guys, you can read about that when the book is released for beta reading), I’m strangely infected with their happiness as well. Yeah, all that to answer one question. (Sorry about the lengthiness of my answers. I’ve never been in a “character interview” before so all this is quite new to me).
Wow, same answer, completely different lengths!

4. What is your favorite food?

KARAH: I haven’t tried a lot of foods. Food in general is nice to have, and even then I don’t always have it, so I just appreciate what I can get. But.. in all honesty, when I was younger, we had a few cherry trees (before the drought destroyed the orchards everywhere) and I loved them.
DAISY: Foooood! I really like the lentil/barley stew that Juliette (one of the cooks) makes all the time. Despite the fact that she puts CORIANDER in it. How dare she. XD
Can I just say YUM! But how dare you guys not mention marshmallows. *GASP* KARAH HASN’T TRIED MARSHMALLOWS!!!!! *rushes her to the marshmallow deprivation hospital*
iu.png
5. What is the most interesting thing about you?
KARAH: *smiles* I don’t find myself very interesting. I mean, if anything, I suppose my storytelling would count as interesting. Rebekah and Sarah, my little sisters, love it when we sit on the banks of the river and I weave tales for them.
DAISY: This isn’t very interesting, but I have an older sister: Coraleigh (Cora for short). AND GUYS SHE’S SO ANNOYING. (she says the same of me, but whatever). She’s super prim and proper and perfect, and always criticizing how “unladylike” I am: once she even shouted after me, “Don’t get the grass muddy!” when I was walking across the lawn. I had a good laugh over that. *SPOILER ALERT!* but at least her life got ruined in the end when Robert got stripped of his lands. *evil laugh*
AHH DAISY I FEEL YOU. Oh, and Karah, please tell me a story!!!
iu.png
6. What’s your biggest fear?
KARAH: * falls silent* I-I don’t like talking about things like that, if you don’t mind.
DAISY: I don’t have that many fears, actually. Mother says I’m fearless, and Father calls me his brave little soldier. But I do HATE getting embarassed. I’m really outspoken, so I tend to embarass myself all the time when I get mad (because I’ll put up a fight in public) or when I stand up for people.
Ummm…AWKWARD. Sorry, Karah.
iu.png
7. Who is your bestest friend in the whole wide world?
KARAH:*brightens* Daisy! She’s the only friend I’ve ever had, and she’s not like anyone else I’ve ever met. She doesn’t look down on me just because of our social statuses. And… you never know what’ll happen with Daisy around.
DAISY: Karah Vedier! She’s actually my lady’s maid, but she’s also my bestest friend in the whole wide world and I wouldn’t trade her for any other. {Karah’s the other protagonist in our story, whom Julia writes from the POV of. Rebekah’s stuck with me. *evil grin*
If only you knew who you were interviewing with, Daisy. *chuckles*
iu.png
8. What is your favorite book?
KARAH:  I don’t get to read very much, but sometimes, when Daisy is having music lessons, she lets me read her books. My favorite will always be the Bible – Daisy has a lovely illustrated copy that has all the pages (unlike the one I have at home)!
DAISY: Books?! Ewwwwww, nasty things. I don’t have a favorite. I do have a least favorite, though: ALL OF THEM. Actually, I’m finding the Bible to be quite interesting, though I don’t really believe in it *yet*.
Great choice! *GASP* DAISY HOW DARE YOU INSULT BOOKS.
iu.png
9. If you were forced to spend the rest of your life on an island and could only take three things with you, what would you pick?
KARAH: Why would I be forced to live on an island? Three things? Why only three? But, if I must: matches, water, and a knife. Survival, of course, is reliant upon those things.
DAISY: Ooh, stranded on an island? That means ADVENTURE! I’d bring…food, water, and my journal.
Uhhh…no idea why. Umm….you got kidnapped and they dumped you on an island and you only had time to grab three things??
iu.png
10. (Last question!) Would you be considered an introvert, extrovert, or ambivert?
KARAH: Introvert, most definitely.
DAISY: I can never figure this one out. Technically, I’d classify myself as a crazy extrovert. But when I’m with super regal/fancy/aristocratic people, I don’t do that much talking (probably ’cause I’m bored out of my wits).
Interesting….very interesting…
iu.png
11. Thank you so much for letting me interview you guys! I had a lot of fun!
KARAH: You’re most welcome!
DAISY: I had a lot of fun too!

Thank you so much for reading, and be sure to check out both blogs!

Wildflower // Giveaway Winner Guest Post by Rachel

Greetings, people of the Earth!

Remember the giveaway where the winner would get a guest post on this blog? Well, here’s the guest post! I’ll let Rachel take it from here!

I won my second giveaway! That’s so exciting for me! Thank you so much for letting me do this!
Now I have to write a guest post? EEEEK! What to say? What to write? Hmmm…how about a short story. Yeah, I can do that 🙂 . Enjoy…ummm…Wildflower. Yes, sounds good.
                               ***
The wind tosses my long red hair into my face. I smile up at the blaring sun. I smile down at the pretty roses. I look out across the flowery meadow. Red and pink roses go beyond my line of vision. Then, wait, what do I see? Out there, not a delicate rose. No, this flower is a fiery red, akin to my hair, almost. I walk over to it tentatively. I don’t want to crush any of the roses.
I finally reach the wild flower. It stands in an utter defiance of all the delicate things surrounding us. I bend down to look at it. Then, before I can stop myself, I grab it. It’s in my hands and I’m smelling it and then…I stop. I shudder. What have I just done? For a moment I try to reconnect the flower to the stem, but it is impossible. I stare in horror at the special flower. It begins to shrivel up. I scream at it to stop, but my words are carried away by the wind.
I feel something inside of me. But it isn’t anger. It’s something strange, different. I feel different. I look down to see the ground coming at me. Slowly, my arms and legs connect to my body and turn green. My hair stands up and connects like…petals. I try to move my feet but I am rooted to the ground. I try to yell out, but it is too late. I have become the Wildflower.
***
The end! Did you like it? I realize it’s a little sad, but I enjoyed writing it!
Thank you so much for the opportunity! I loved writing this! Love you all!

50 Followers Q&A + NTTMN VOTING! + An Announcement

Greetings, Earthlings.

Hello everybody! Thanks everybody who entered the Q and A! Let’s get started!

The questions will be in bold.

Rachel’s Questions

How long have you been blogging?

Well, I started last December, so about 10 months! 😮 That’s crazy!
Izzy, what’s your fave color?

Izzy: Pink! Purple and teal are a close second. (Hence my color!)
Where do you see yourself in 10 months?

Hmm, I’m not sure! I would be almost 11, so probably…hmm…editing my novel?
What’s your favorite candy?

TWIX TWIX TWIX

EnniMorgan’s Questions

How high do you rate exit signs?

ummm…. 10?
Do you like plane rides?

I love plane rides! I’ve only been on an airplane twice, though. It’s really cool to look out the window and see clouds!
Movie theater or movie at home?

I like watching movies at the theater, but watching movies at home is fun because you can make fun of it/be loud/pause.
If you could get any doll in AG existence which would it be?

Either Nikki or Molly. I really like how Nikki trains service dogs and she’s the GOTY of my birth year!
Who’s your favorite doll?

Out of the ones I have? Don’t tell the other dolls, but probably Lexi or Z…

Izzy: Hey!

AG’s In Alaska’s Questions

I want to know about how you got into AG and the story of your first doll.

When I was 5 or 6, I met my best friend (we’ll call her Kate) who had like, 7 AG Dolls. I really, really, wanted a doll of my own! So, Kate let me borrow her AG Catalogue and I was hooked. I really wanted Caroline (there’s a funny story about how I thought Marie Grace’s crinoline was for Caroline and I was so confused why it was on Marie Grace’s page!) so for Christmas, I asked for an AG doll! My parents gave me an Our Generation Doll (her name was Lily Anna) who looked like Caroline, and I loved her. Then, I saved up for Izzy! I don’t have Lily Anna anymore, but I’ll remember her as my first doll.

Kaylin’sWorldBlog’s Questions

Z: No, I haven’t heard of those!

Hannah’s Questions

Z’ why do you like taking pictures?

Z: I love being able to capture the moment to be able to look back at it later!
Emmie why did you start a blog?

I had been reading Lissie’s blog for a while, when I finally asked my parents to help me set up a blog! I really wanted a place to share my writing and photography, so I made myself a Blogger Blog! But, it had personal information on it, so my parents freaked out and made me delete it. So, I started a new one! (Did you know AGW was originally on Blogger?)  Then, my dad researched better blogging platforms and fond WordPress!

Here are the rules!

 • Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link back to their blog.

 • Answer the 11 questions given and have your sister do the same for you. This way, we can compare and contrast the two of you!

 • Nominate 7 bloggers and have them answer the same 11 questions.

 • Have fun!

So first, Isabel!

Which of you is older?

I am! I’m actually the oldest of all of EmeraldPhoenix’s dolls.

What’s your favorite thing to do together ?

We like to go to the juice bar together! I work there, and sometimes after hours well come over for a snack.

What is your sisters favorite food?

I think anything with sugar! She particularly likes chocolate.

What’s a character trait in the other that you appreciate?

I like how she’s always positive, and kind. She may be the littlest of the doll family, but her heart is definitely the biggest! She’s very generous and loves to play.

What’s a character trait in the other that you don’t appreciate?

She’s very talkative. I can never get her to stop! She’ll just go on and on and rarely let others join the conversation.

What’s one hobby that you have that the other doesn’t?

I love to dance! Maryellen more prefers ice skating, and drawing.

Who keeps a cleaner room?

Me! Maryellen’s room (which she shares with DiamoundUnicorn’s Lea) is like, never clean. Never.

What’s the biggest way in which your sister can annoy you?

She loves pranks and goes to extreme measures when she does them. The problem is, I’m usually the victim…

Describe each other in 3 words.

Crazy, feisty, bold

How do you two differ personality-wise?

She’s an extrovert, I’m an introvert. We both have different interests and hobbies.

Why do you love your sister? (C’mon, you know you do!)

She’s super fun to hang out with and always has a unique perspective on things!
