DIY No-Sew Dolloween StarWars Costume!

Hello, Marshmallows!

tenor1

Halloween is right around the corner! That’s crazy. I literally only have one piece of my costume ready, and that’s still shipping. TELL THAT UNICORN HEADBAND TO HURRY UP. Well, not only does Halloween mean getting your costume ready, but it also mean’s getting your dolls’ costume ready! And we’re here to help with that, so enjoy this tutorial!

For this craft, you will need:

  • A thin wooden dowel
  • Black duct tape
  • Sharpie
  • Your doll
  • Blue duct tape, red duct tape, etc.
  • A brown or black infant shirt (12 or 11 months)
  • Scissors
  • Doll boots
  • Printer (doesn’t have to be colored)
  • Black embroidery floss
  • Tape

The Lightsaber:

IMG_1623

Step 1: Mark where you want to cut your dowel.

IMG_1624.JPG

Step 2: Snap your dowel, using your mark as a guideline. Don’t worry about making the edge look neat; we’ll be covering that up in the next step.

IMG_1628.JPG

Step 3: Now, cover the uneven end of the dowel with black duct tape. This will be your handle.

IMG_1629.JPG

Step 4: Next, color the uncovered part of the dowel red (for the Dark Side) or green, blue, or purple (for the Light Side).

IMG_1630.JPG

Step 5: Cut small pieces of colorful duct tape and stick it on your “handle” for buttons. You don’t need a terrible amount of these. Just an on/off switch can do it’s justice.

And there’s your lightsaber!

AMERICAN GIRL W-2

The Robe:

IMG_1631.JPG

Step 1: Get your infant tee shirt out. Use brown for a Jedi and black for Darth Vader. Mine is from Garanamals, which is available at Walmart or Amazon.

IMG_1632

Step 2: Slip it on your doll and pin where it’s needed.

If you are making a Jedi, then you’re done! But if you’re making Darth Vader, carry on to the next step…

AMERICAN GIRL W-2

IMG_1634.JPG

Step 1: Print out a picture of Darth Vader. Make sure to size it down in a Word program before printing so it fits your doll’s head. (I printed a coloring sheet because I didn’t want to waste ink.)

IMG_1635.JPG

Step 2: Now, cut it out. If you colored it, make sure to layer a few pieces of paper on the back so it doesn’t bleed on your doll’s face.

IMG_1636.JPG

Step 3: Make sure it fits on your doll’s face before continuing to any of the next steps.

IMG_1637.JPG

Step 4: Punch two holes on the sides of your mask.

IMG_1638.JPG

Step 5: Wrap a piece of embroidery thread (or, if you don’t have embroidery thread, you can use floss). Now, cut at the very end.

IMG_1639.JPG

Step 6: Measure your embroidery floss. If you are doing this to multiple dolls, make sure to measure each one, because the hairstyle may vary the size. Now, cut your floss a little more than three quarters. So, because mine was about 11 inches, I cut it at 9.

IMG_1640.JPG

Step 7: Place two strips of tape on each hole. Make sure you taped in the front.

IMG_1641.JPG

Step 8: Put the embroidery floss in the back of the taped holes. I know that doesn’t’t really make sense, but if you look at the picture you’ll get it.

IMG_1642

Step 9: Just slip it on your doll, and you’re done!

Victoria the Dreamer | I Got a Free Doll?!

Hello, my loyal marshmallows!

It is I, Emmie! Thanks for stopping by! So……My neighbor was getting rid of some of her doll collection! No, she is not an American Girl Doll. But, even though she is not an American Girl, I think she is beautiful. At first I thought she was creepy but know I really like her. THANK YOU SO MUCH, MRS. P! Now, for the reveal!

WARNING: If you are creeped out by dolls that are not American Girl, then you probably shouldn’t read this post! She’s actually not that creepy, but I know pediophobia varies, so, be careful….

Meet…

VICORIA ELISABETH BLOOMSBURY!

IMG_1394.JPG

(Sorry for bad lighting!)

She has curly blond hair, bright blue inset eyes, painted lower lashes and synthetic upper lashes, A porcelain face with beautiful paint, a gold locket and a matching bracelet. Her early 1900’s style outfit is a teal blue color with puffed sleeves and lace. She has bloomers, rose-embroidered tights, and shoes that have little roses on them. Her headband is coral tulle shaped like a flower.

IMG_1395.JPG

Here is a back view^

She is 11 years old and likes playing with her dolls, embroidery, drawing, and singing. She is from 1905. I don’t think she is going to be part of the doll family because of her difference in size, and she is very fragile and more of a collector’s doll.

A side view^

I think she is really pretty! What do YOU think of Victoria? Comment below!

Mini Misadventures #1: The Canine Catastrophe

Hello, loyal marshmallows!

So first of all, if you are reading this post, high five, you! You are the awesomest person in the whole world! Here’s some marshmallows.

Second of all, I wanted to give a huge shoutout to Madison @ Delightful World of Dolls! Her post inspired me to write this photo story!

So let’s get on with the photo story, shall we?

.

IMG_1361.JPG

“I’m bored,” Izzy whined. “There’s never anything to do here.”

“I like doing nothing,” Raina pushed a blue lock of hair behind her ear. “It’s very quiet. I can just sit and think deeply about things.”

As Raina was talking, she noticed that Izzy wasn’t paying attention and looked up.

IMG_1362.JPG

“Hello down there!”

“Ahh!” Raina was shocked. “Get down from there!” You could really hurt yourself!”

“You’re no fun!” Izzy pouted. “Come up here!”

IMG_1363.JPG

“I don’t want to! I’m afraid of heights!”

“Oh, come on, scaredy-cat!”

IMG_1365.JPG

“Fine.”

IMG_1366.JPG

“Wait a sec, how do we get down?”

“YOU DON’T KNOW HOW TO GET US DOWN??” Raina shrieked. Izzy just looked at her.

“There’s only one way.”

IMG_1368.JPG

Climbing to the edge of the wood, Izzy took a deep breath and pushed her little legs up.

IMG_1370.JPG

And she went flying! The thrill of it purged through her body as she fell, down, down, the wind rushing against her. The adrenaline was overwhelming.

IMG_1371.JPG

She landed on the grass with a fall, luckily breaking her fall. She lay there for a moment, soaking the moment in. She was the first mini doll to brave such a height, such a fall… and for it to be a free fall, she almost–

IMG_1373.JPG

With a scream and an “Oof!” Raina landed on the grass beside her, interrupting her daydream. Slightly annoyed, Izzy repositioned herself.

IMG_1377.JPG

Little did they know what lay in their future.

IMG_1378.JPG

Hearing a small bark, Izzy jumped. She turned around…and screamed!

IMG_1380.JPG

The minis jumped up and ran! Screaming, they pumped their legs as fast as they could.

But just when they thought they had lost the bloodthirsty pup…

IMG_1383.JPG

…Izzy tumbled in to a ditch!

IMG_1385.JPG
Oh, umm, sorry for the uh, dog poop that seems to have photobombed…XD

“I’m gonna die!!!!” Izzy screamed. “I DON’T WANNA DIE IN A DITCH!”

IMG_1386.JPG

Ooof! Raina tumbled in after her.

IMG_1388.JPG

But just as things had “CERTAIN DEATH” in capital letters written all over the situation…

Izzy sprang up from the ditch, hoisted her leg over the dog, and then…

IMG_1390.JPG

At least mini-doll-hungry dogs came with a ride home.

I Customized my Sister’s Bitty Baby?? | What a Bitty Looks like with a Wig

Snoitatulas, everyone! (That’s Salutations backwards! Thanks Rachel!)

Bitty Baby.

Wait what? Emmie has a Bitty? Well, moi sis has one, and she saved up for the Essential Flair Wig – Raven Black from Beautifully Custom! I’m not really sure about how it turned out, but DiamoundUnicorn430 loves it, so that’s all that matters. 🙂

Ready for the reveal?

Isabel’s Virtual Birthday Party!

Sorry this post is… a few hours late!

You take a deep breath as you knock on the door. A cheerful Felicity doll opens it for you.

“Hello! I expect you’re here for Isabel’s party?” You nod.

“Thanks for coming!” She then explains what happened that morning.

“Maryellen woke up early and then shook us awake.

“We then realized it was Isabel’s birthday, and we scurried off to make her breakfast in bed!

“Sounds like an interesting morning!” You chuckle as you follow her in to a dollhouse.

Wow, you think as you veiw the decor. Everyone is wearing fashionable clothing.

“Hi, I’m Maryellen. Don’t call me cute, my outfit is hideous and I only wore it cause izzy made me. Which outfit would you like?” You point to the one you want (tell me wich one you picked in the comments!) and pull it on.

Then you have a fashion show! You and All the dolls get to walk across the runway and showcase your outfits.

Then you have cake and all sing!

Did you have fun? Which outfit did you choose?
